The Canadian Cancer Society organizes this special Daffodil Cancer Awareness month to raise funds for research. Purchase a Daffodil pin or make a donation to show your support for this important cause. Mostof us have been touched in some way by this terrible disease. The society also want this month as an opportunity to recommend the importance of cancer screening . Research show that 4 in10 cancer cases can be prevented through adopting healthy living habits. Risk can be increased or decreased by lifestyle choices and environment.
The Cancer Society has published these safe lifestyle choices to follow to reduce your risk of cancer.
1) Live smoke-free.
2) Be sun safe. Protect your skin and your eyes.
3)Maintain a healthy body weight.
4)Eat well.
5) Live an active lifestyle. Aim for 30 minutes of activity per day. Take short breaks if sitting for long periods of time.
6) Limit alcohol intake.
